About us

All of our classes are taught by experienced Registered Nurses who have additional speciality training in Perinatal Nursing and are Childbirth Educators. Our instructors are actively working in healthcare facilities across BC and are passionate about working with expectant parents and newborns. Each instructor brings with them a variety of experience and speciality education making our classes fun and engaging. We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality and affordable prenatal education.

We want you to leave our classes feeling empowered, confident, and prepared with tools and information for your upcoming birth and transition into parenthood. Our goal is to provide you with the skills needed to help you make informed decisions on this monumental journey. Our classes are a safe and inclusive space where all are welcome. Classes are filled with useful and memorable information that you can actually as you transition into parenthood. 

This Child of Mine was established in 1996 and has been actively involved in childbirth education throughout BC. We are located in Vancouver however, our online classes allow us to provide high quality prenatal education to anyone in BC. Individual information is provided to clients for the BC hospital they are delivering at. Homebirth information is also included. We also offer in-person classes in Vancouver and surrounding cities. Our instructors may also be available to come other communities throughout BC for in-person classes based on instructor availability. Other communities where we frequently offer in-person classes include Kamloops, Merritt, Vernon, and Kelowna. Please contact us if you require more information about in-person classes outside of the Greater Vancouver area.

Our instructors use the most current information related to pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, the newborn, and the immediate postpartum period while teaching about best practices to empower and provide clients with the skills needed to embark on this monumental journey or parenthood.
